Cookie Policy

The short version
VerifyCalc sets no cookies of its own. Every cookie described on this page is set by Google, which provides our traffic analytics and the ads that keep the calculators free. Nothing you type into a calculator is ever stored in a cookie, because nothing you type ever leaves your browser.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep and hand back on later visits. It is how a site recognizes a returning browser. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party; cookies set by another company whose code runs on the page — Google, in our case — are called third-party.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which calculators people use and how they find them. This tells us what to build next and what to fix. These cookies are set as soon as a page loads.

Advertising cookies
Pages carry ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to choose which ads to show, cap how often you see the same one, and detect click fraud. These are set only once an ad actually loads on a page.

Google may set additional cookies not listed here, and it can change names and durations at any time. The definitive list is Google's own advertising cookies reference.
Local storage, not a cookie
We remember one thing about you, and it is not a cookie: your choice of light or dark theme, kept in your browser's local storage under verifycalc-theme. It never leaves your device and is never sent to a server. Clearing your site data removes it.
How to turn cookies off
You can refuse or remove any of these without losing access to a single calculator:
- Block third-party cookies in your browser. This stops the advertising cookies above. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer this in their privacy settings, and Safari and Firefox block many of them by default.
- Opt out of analytics with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Turn off personalized ads in Google Ad Settings. You will still see ads, but they will not be based on your browsing.
- Opt out across many ad companies at once at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Send a Global Privacy Control signal. Some browsers and extensions broadcast an automatic opt-out that Google honors where the law requires it.
Because the calculators run entirely in your browser, blocking every cookie on this list leaves the site fully working. Nothing here is required to compute a result.
How long we keep the data
We do not hold the data — Google does, under its own privacy policy. The durations in the tables above are how long each cookie sits in your browser unless you clear it sooner.
Changes
When we add or remove a service that sets cookies, this page and the date at the top of it change with it.
